Maryland Association of Coaches of Soccer
In 1969, a small group met to organize an association of high school soccer coaches with the purpose of encouraging and fostering the growth of soccer in Maryland. Out of that meeting came the Maryland Association of Coaches of Soccer [MACS]. This organization represents the soccer coaches in Maryland’s public, private and parochial high schools. Many college and university coaches in the state also join. In addition to providing an opportunity for coaches to meet and share ideas and concerns for promoting soccer at the high school level throughout Maryland, MACS seeks to provide input on rule changes and other improvements for the game.
Most importantly, through its association with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), MACS encourages and recognizes the development of young soccer players (male and female) from our state with the selection of All-State Teams and All-South and All- America nominations.
Last year MACS enjoyed another banner year. While membership continues to grow, MACS sponsors activities like the All-State Games, the All-State Banquet and the Membership R eception at the National Convention of the NSCAA.
It is our hope that this year will bring even greater involvement by coaches throughout the entire state and even more successes for the association. As you look over the various "pages" of this site you will see many opportunities to get involved in this worthwhile organization. We are always looking for new members to get involved in promoting "the beautiful game". A membership application can be downloaded from this site.
